So I realize that traditionally, the night before Thanksgiving is the biggest bar night of the year. So I would expect there to a  bunch of over served 20 & 30 somethings taking up beds in the ED tonight. But what I didn’t know is, today is also give all you extra alchohol to the homeless drunks day. Now, we typically have a foul smelling drunk or two in the ED on a given shift, but we were rapidly approaching all of the hall beds being taken up by less than pleasant smelling folk as I was walking out, and there were a few more on there way in by EMS. I just found it interesting to note the uptick in drunks today of all days and wondered if there was a connection.

About ER Jedi

I’m a resident doctor in Emergency Medicine and I’ve learned during the past few years that 1) I’ve had some pretty amazing experiences 2) I have a very bad short-term memory. So this blog is just a place for me to write about some of these experiences, from the ER, medical school, the wards and life in general. At least that way I’ll have some idea as to where I’ve been all this time. A scrap-book of sorts, a place to vent, organize some clinical tools and post a few good songs I’ve heard along the way.
