Coming to an ER near you…

While driving home from a great weekend out in the country, I heard a commercial for one of the local ER’s on the radio. Unfortunately I only caught the last half of it, but what I did hear was that when their new ED opens next month, each patient room is going to have an Ipad for use by families and patients.  I wonder if patients will be able to look up synonyms and alternative pronunciations  for dilaudid on it.

I also got my daily schedule for the first four blocks and I’m pretty pleased with the way things turn our. I start in the ED for four weeks, then 4 of ultrasound, 4 of CCU and back to the ED for another 4. Whats key is that the second 4 weeks in the ED you are the swing intern, working 11a-9p M-F. Which is AWESOME  because it means I don’t have miss any of the first 4 Notre Dame football games (one of my other passions in life).  Yay!

About ER Jedi

I’m a resident doctor in Emergency Medicine and I’ve learned during the past few years that 1) I’ve had some pretty amazing experiences 2) I have a very bad short-term memory. So this blog is just a place for me to write about some of these experiences, from the ER, medical school, the wards and life in general. At least that way I’ll have some idea as to where I’ve been all this time. A scrap-book of sorts, a place to vent, organize some clinical tools and post a few good songs I’ve heard along the way.
